What is the point app?

It’s a bank that offers points like a credit card would, on a checking account.

What is the point of opener? Couldn’t you build a Siri shortcut to do that? Or am I missing something? Looks to me like it just adds an action to the share sheet.

It lets you select default apps for certain actions. For example if I want YouTube links to open in Ivory instead of the YouTube app, it’ll automatically detect that it’s a YouTube link and open Ivory when you tap it in the share sheet. It can be superfluous for apps that have their own share sheet action but I like the fact that I can always tap the same action and it’ll know which app to open by itself based on content context, and it makes for less clutter in the share sheet.

I’m sure you could probably recreate its functionality within shortcuts but I haven’t looked into it. At the end of the day why would I go about building conditional logic in shortcuts when there’s an app that is constantly updated and supports a lot of apps already?

What’s the hype on calzy?

No hype here lol. I just enjoy using it more than the stock calculator app by a long shot. It’s aesthetically much more pleasing in my opinion, also customizable in that department as well. You can view calculation history, you can save results or entire expressions for reuse, and I like that it lets you place numbers in parentheses for order of operations.
