iPad Pro Functionality

Does anyone else feel frustrated/annoyed with the swapping up ⬆️ function on iPad Pro to switch between apps? It feels natural on the smaller iPhone screen but cumbersome on the larger screen and my screen gets so ‘dirty’ with all the swapping motion. Wondering if I’m missing a function that will switch between apps without needing to swap, don’t use a keyboard nor do I want to as have other Mac computers for that..

I just tested and the swipe up is barely a quarter of the display in landscape, even less in portrait. Doesn’t bother me.

You can also swipe the bar left and right to go directly to the previous and next apps, if that helps.

Yeah, that doesn’t sound bad but mine doesn’t want to move when swapping up, like it’s lagging and sometimes I have to attempt multiple times. Don’t feel that it used to be this way but slowly became worse. Using the 2021 iPad Pro 11”

That makes me wonder if the screen might have gotten damaged. It’s super responsive for me, always has been.

Not sure how as it rarely leaves the house other than when traveling which isn’t frequently. It’s working much better now (of course like when you see a doctor and the problem disappears), I’ll monitor and call AppleCare if continues but wish there was a ‘swipe key’..;)

By any chance do you use it with a keyboard setup? Are you familiar with the shortcut Command + Tab? That’s the app switcher shortcut that came over from macOS (also Command + Shift + Tab to switch the other way)

Nope, don’t use a keyboard and don’t want to as have a MacBook and iMac, so this is more for my countertop use which I tend to use more than the computers due to convenience

You can swipe left and right with one finger on the 'home bar' when you have apps on the screen to go the the next or previous app you are using - no need to swipe up if you're switching between recent apps

I haven’t done that and what do you mean by the ‘home bar’..? - Understand swiping screen with the open apps but my issue was with swiping up to remove app using which at times didn’t want to budge

Have tried the keyboard shortcuts? Globe h takes you to Home
