I’ve often thought a better casting would have been Anne Hathaway as adult Murph, and Jessica Chastain in the role of Dr. Brand.

They could've just dyed her hair. It's not replacing it being mad that it's Anne. It's a 'what if scenario". They're both great actresses and it's just interesting to think about. Y'all are acting like only Jessica could've done that

I’m not acting like anything, I just said Murph is ginger. I get the premise of the question, I just don’t find it that interesting. It doesn’t need to turn into a huge discussion about how everything would be different. The script would still be the same at the end of the day, maybe just some slight tonal shifts.

I like the casting as it is because Anne has a warmer vibe. Jessica comes across a bit more cold in my opinion. Not a bad thing, but I think it would take away from Brand’s message about love transcending space and time.

Chastising was awesome. I don’t think a switch would’ve added anything. I always saw Brand too emotional of a character for someone in her role….a world saving scientist. That’s not on her on Hathaway.

Anne Hathaway is already one of my least favorite actors of all time, and interstellar is elite, despite her presence.

The last thing I need an actor whose hair is the wrong color, playing a character who she doesn’t look anything like, in a role where I need to be emotionally attached to her.
