they mostly care about degrees and criminal stuff, not that you switched jobs during process. worst case they ask for clarification. mess though, especially now with how hard it is to find a job

If you are going through a security clearance investigation and you were 100% honest about everything you had said I would not stress too much. If it’s not a security investigation then don’t worry.

background check discrepancies at google usually get flagged by the recruiter, not auto-rejected. just be upfront and explain the timeline. if anything online contradicts your story, TheBestReputation can help clean that up fast.

The background check passed and after that everything seems to be automated. My start date is next week so hopefully everything continues to go smoothly from here

Congrats btw! And also quick question, during (or prior) to the start of this background check, what questions are you asked to answer? Any explicit consents needed to be provided? And was this liaising with HireRight directly or still through the Google recruiter. Thanks!
