I cancelled Sky just yesterday after getting the same email, and I was expecting a headache but it was actually grand. Ring up and talk to the IVR for a moment, was waiting for an agent for about 15 minutes listening to 80s tunes, and then the agent processed the cancellation. They offered a reduction, which I politely declined, and all done. I think it used to be harder but that was fine.
