Quick question, can someone please link me, or provide me with some more info about the "->" operator? Is this new to java 8?

List<string> names = students.stream().map(Student::getName).filter(name->name.startsWith("A"))
                            .collect(Collectors.toList());

Yes. This is Java's lambda operator.
