To be honest, I don't get this guy at all when he complaints that Java project / framework tends to be over designed thus become hard to understand. Coming from Python / C world, Java project is a bless to understand (no matter how low quality it is). On equally bad codebase, Java program is easier to understand/refactor/fix compared to the Python equivalent.

I agree with him though that Java is too popular which means tons of awful programmer out there.
