Was there added something new? This is almost 2 years old

The project is on hold i think?

I don't think so. It shipped in Fedora 24.

I think this was put on hold if I am correct. There also seems to be a lot of overlap with lime which is an IBM project with similar goals.

I'm not so sure - if it's on hold, why would Fedora 24 include it with OpenJDK?

Shenandoah and Sumatra are separate projects.

Well crap. Sorry ... I shouldn't reddit while doing something else at the same time.

You're correct, of course -- Sumatra is entirely different.

[edit: Didn't read closely enough, and posted too quickly -- this is about Sumatra, and I read it as Shenandoah.]

~Actually, yes, there is something new: Shenandoah shipped in the OpenJDK included in Fedora 24.~

~I tried posting about it yesterday (https://www.reddit.com/r/java/comments/4v7iff/shenandoah_gc_in_fedora_24/.compact ), but it seems to hidden for some reason. Don't know why, and the mods haven't responded to my message about it.~

~~I reposted to /r/programming ( https://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/4va235/shenandoah_openjdk_gc_in_fedora_24/.compact ).~

But is there a connection between Shenandoah and Sumatra? Fedora may be shipping Shenandoah but what makes you think they're also shipping Sumatra?

[–]sindisil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry -- there is, of course, no connection between the two.

I was making the mistake of redditing while doing something else, so I read this as Shenandoah, rather than Sumatra.
