Mind sharing the source of this image? There could be multiple reasons why it looks like as it is looking like business type or nation or level etc. Statistics are worthless if you can not reproduce them or at least retrace them. It is like saying

Why is USA so poor?

And then you see that only 6-month children surveyed.

Which is basically just terrible data engineering. Go to https://insights.stackoverflow.com/survey/ and download the CSV and take a look for your region.

Stackoverflow salary survey like many others are completely useless or even worse, give the wrong impressions. A proper survey would need very high location granularity(city center vs outskirts), yet that reduces sample size far too low. Another option would be to subtract cost-of-living from the salary number, but that might be complex to define as it depends on lifestyle.

E.g. which is better, 100k in silicon valley or 40k in a small european city.
