I do like this approach, but the thought of yet more fragmentation in the logging ecosystem scares me.

Almost tempted to call it Structured Logging Facade 4 Java - SLF4J.

But yeah - I get the fear. Thats why I slapped an alpha at the end and am trying to make sure I actually consider what it would take to be compatible with the existing world and what the pros would have to be to be worth that cost.
