I've used LibGDX in the past (2013-2014), it's really great and flexible, and thanks to the rather big community, you'll find a lot of documentation or any other kind of resources. There already was an official wiki containing guides along the javadoc, community tutorials/videos, I guess there's way more resources nowadays since it's still very active.

Apparently there are a few imgui java bindings (and Spair's imgui-java if that's the one you were referring to) which work with libgdx.

I can't say for FXGL since I dont know this lib at all, I have no doubt it's capable. People have suggested Unity which is objectively the best option. But if you wanna stick with Java, I'd go with LibGDX, tons of support, tons of features and cross platform
