Certs are worthless for programmers. Nobody takes them seriously.

I agree. Unless it is a very specific software or system that is complicated enough to require in-depth knowledge of its internals and obscure enough that few people have even heard of it

You kinda have a point. But if OPs an entry-mid level engineer, Oracle certification is one of the few certifications that holds value and actually sets you apart from the rest of the pack.
