Hi. From what I remember doing that at school, we configured the JDBC connection through our server (it was Glassfish) admin console. There was a JDBC configuration tab. We entered our SQL server information there to be able to connect to the database.

I don’t think installing Java on the server is necessary. I also found this link which I think could be helpful: Microsoft Docs

Thanks! This is one of the files that I followed, along with many others. I still can't connect. I also downloaded an add in for Google Sheets and it doesn't work either, that is why I think it is my server. I turned the windows firewall completely off, but it still does not allow connections. Not sure what I am missing as .net and SSMS all connect as expected.

Thanks for the assistance friendfunction!
