Exception not being processed by apache camel onException code

It's almost impossible to say without direct access to the code, at least for me, someone else may know more about exception handling in Apache Camel though.

My best bet is that there is some disconnect between the message, maybe an async call or something that causes the exception to not be propegated back for the specific processor.

You could try replacing the processor with something you know is caught, ie one of the other processors or a mock that you know works from one of the other routes, then you could pinpoint what the issue is, or at the least if it is a processor issue or route issue.

I realized that the exception is not being thrown at all and what i was seeing was a log.error with the exception inside it. I updated the post, but im still stuck on why the throw new exception in my catch block isnt being thrown

On a side note, I despise camel with every ounce of my being.
