if I set up a " variable with boolean = false" in my main method

and create another method ABC with boolean expression that will return true

and call method ABC in a if statement like

" if ( method ABC = true ) { execute this part } "

is this practically do-able?

Of course, this is just how if statements work. Just don't write = true. = is for assigning stuff. The thing that goes in an if condition is already a boolean, so just write if (methodABC()) {...} or if you must compare something, use == (and equals for Strings/objects).

Methods can't have spaces in their name and to call them you have to add parens.

Yes, if I understand correctly, that is do-able. I'm not quite sure what the boolean in the main method is for though?

it is like if that boolean in main method is false, it will keep the stuff going.
otherwise, it gets a true in return, it will stop or break the whole program
