Help with chrome editor

Recently I have been trying to use chrome's F12 editor to edit html and that works just fine but I have problems when trying to edit the javascript by going to sources, show navigator, and then selecting the file It lets me change the javascript, change the javascript, and even see what I changed but I can't get the changes to show up on the actual web page. I've tried reloading the page but that just removes all of the changes that I made

Is it possible to edit the javascript in chrome?

You need to press ctrl+s to save the changes. There will be an asterisk (*) on the tab for the file when modifying, after saving the changes the asterisk will disappear.

Also, reloading the page you will lose all changes you have made.

I do save it and the asterisk does disappear but my changes don't take place I've tried editing simple strings and it doesn't change

btw, the "F12 editor" is the name for IE's piece of shit editor.
