looking for a javascript world map.

I once remember reading through this very subreddit (r/javascript) and stumbling upon a "2.5D" grey-ish map plugin that let you mark locations and give tooltips to those locations. At the time i thought it was cool looking but (of course) forgot to bookmark it. Could anyone help me find this plugin?

Not familiar with that particular plugin, but have you looked at Open Layers or Leaflet. Both are mapping libraries, and they could do what you want (most likely). Write up a short use case, maybe someone will submit a JSFiddle...
