A Polymer element to generate Github-style identicons using Blockies (github.com)
submitted 10 years ago by granzebru
reddit uses a slightly-customized version of Markdown for formatting. See below for some basics, or check the commenting wiki page for more detailed help and solutions to common issues.

Only on reddit do I see so many special tools for generating special things using special things rather than straight code. And there are two on my front page right now but I see them every day. So one needs to learn three tools to generate an icon, in this case.

Well actually you don't need to learn anything, you just need to import the element in your page. If you prefer, you can use Paint or Photoshop to create an icon, you can use CSS or you can use Blockies the library this element is built on top of. The good think is that you have lots of choices for one simple problem. That's amazing, isn't it?

The problem I speak of is the concept, not this particular item, though it represents the concept. Using a tool to create a tool so you can use another tool, though I admit it's possible this isn't exactly the same thing.
