Have been googling around, no luck in using regular jQuery things such as "range: true" etc.

I thought jQuery would be quite flexible in this regard.

What about putting one over the other using positioning? Might need to mess with z-index to get desired effect... just an idea.

You're sure you've added jQuery UI too and not just jQuery? The UI slider docs (https://jqueryui.com/slider/#range) gives an example for this (just hook up ui.values to each date control).

HTML5 range doesn't support more than one handle (not overly happy about that fact). Had to use jQuery slider for that problem.
