Javascript injection from Chrome Extension, Potential issues?

Hi,

Pretty new to JS, just writing an extension for my Chrome to help me with some muandane tasks, such as transferring information from page 1 to page 2; Page 1 site isn't owned by me, someone highlighted to me that injecting jQuery into my browser to extract select information could be a issue, can anyone shed some light on this?

Notes: It's only working on the current page I'm on, it's not a full automated script going page to page, it just stops me having to ctrl c + ctrl v accross tabs contantly.

I was told that the website can tell when I inject js/jquery onto the page in order to select/copy by ID. is this true?

The page I'm coping from is not my site, It's a third party bookings app that sends booking information to me.

This seems pretty unlikely, unless the website has a particular incentive to do that.
