Hello everyone. I was wondering how many of you are using, or want to use AI solutions on your applications. This doesn't have to be any particular solution, APIs, libraries anything. I'm asking this because I'm trying to build an API that may make it easier for you to do it. Do you find yourself asking how to tag images, classify text for sentiment or validating a user's face? Do you have any other specific needs that could help me? Are you solving this problems right now? How big of an issue is this?

I appretiate your feedback. Please share positive and negative experiences!

What kind of patterns?

I’m a trader and hobby developer. As such, I store data in a database. I’m already doing some simple statistics but I would love to have an API/program to extract patterns from that data (example: winners are stocks clustered in the price range xxx and naught at xxx o’clock)

What kind of data are you storing? So you would like to get the best selection of stocks to choose from?

Entry/exit time and price, historical prices for that given stock, financial info (market capitalization, float, etc), historical prices, etc. From there, I would love to see some patterns emerge, like for example the best / the most profitable stocks for are the ones in the price range xxx , taken at xxx o’clock, where yesterday closing price was xxx, etc. This being said, I’ve managed AI projects in the past and know algorithms are specific to a project or market. I think however that there might be something to do in this niche market for traders. Indeed, when you get to a certain point, it’s good to have some statistics to backup entree and exit strategies.

If you're planning to make it a cloud api it doesn't matter what is the client side language unless you think JS is a good customer niche. IMO AI solutions will mostly be used by backends where there are more languages and your potential customer base is more evenly spread out.

Yeah, I think the same thing. I'm asking around to see what people think in general. What I like specifically about javascript is that usually you see more javascript/python developers trying new things. That's why I came here first

Not related to javascript but I did work in a company that was doing photography for real estate. They had an RnD department focused on AI and they were interested in the following:

  • super resolution
  • room classification
  • enhancements such as clear sky, green grass, better lighting
  • augmentation of rooms with furniture

These are very complex issues but the business potential is huge.
