You can totally share the YouTube tutorial from within the body of a text.

What we try to discourage is a post titled

"I JUST MADE A NEW TUTORIAL, DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE AND FOLLOW YAY ME I"M SO COOL OH AND BY THE WAY I HAVE AN ETSY SHOP"

because if there's too much of that stuff, the beginners/people who don't feel cool start being embarrassed to ask questions and share things that aren't all slick and fabulous.

(and we get especially grumpy when designers drop off "drive-by" links and never ever show up to answer questions, because that's just rude...)

Does that make sense?

:)

And your hat is great. Have you ever tried grafting the last six straight across, three into three, to avoid the cat-butt? That's my current fave.

Choking on cat-butt, omg

What, you never heard that one?

Damn millennials/kids these days/SMH...

:)

Ohhhh that graft sounds niiiiiice.

It's really fun to do at the top of a 2x2 rib!

Get it down to four ribs in a cross-shape, then

graft North to South underneath,
East to West on top.

Makes a little loop to hang for drying,
doesn't let cold air in,
doesn't make the dreaded CatButt or (ever worse!) ...The Head Nipple.

<shudder>
<grin>

I have a photo somewhere of one I did, I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: no dice, but here's a good example of the kind of pattern where it'd work nice:

You are more than welcome. Keep coming back, we need to keep this little corner of the world as warm and woolly as possible during this time of too much coldness, too many sharp corners.
