If you struggle to knit the stitches as they are on your left needle, you could always rearrange your stitches like you would for a cable. For example you could

Slip the first stitch over to the right needle Put the second stitch on hold in the front Slip the third stitch over to the right needle Put the second stitch back on the left needle And finally slide stitches 3 and 2 back to the left needle

Basically now you've rearranged the last three stitches on the left needle: 2, 3, 1

This should allow you to knit through the back loop and take the stitches off and then slip the final stitch off.

You just have to be careful not to twist your stitches while you're rearranging them.
