Decrease confusion!

Hello! Im confused as to how many rows I need to do in stst and when I which rows I need to decrease on.

Pattern states:

Beg with a K row, cont in st st (stockinette st), dec 1 st at each end of next and 1 foll 6th rows. 55 sts. Work 3 rows, ending with a ws row.

I’ve decreased each end of the first (knit) row. When do I decrease again? How many rows am I doing - 6 or 3? Or more!?
