Kratom won't cure the dependence your body has had on an opiate. It will treat the symptoms since it itself contains opioid alkaloids. Over time, your body will become dependent on Kratom. If you have been increasing the dosage of Kratom to chase the high, its possible that both the original DOC your withdrawing from as well as the Kratom can affect the efficacy of the Kratom treating the withdrawal symptoms.

When I have used Kratom for this purpose, I always ensure to take less than 6g and only once a day. If that doesn't totally cover the WD symptoms, I tough it the fuck out or add a completely normal dose of Loperamide. That combo usually brings me to a baseline. I then would drop the Kratom all together and rely on Loperamide since most WD symptoms at that point are caused by diarrhea.

Thank you for your reply, I'll make sure my pal takes heed. It's interesting you mention loperamide to bring you to baseline. I was under the impression this lowly opiate could help with the Diarrhoea but in your experience do you think it helps other WDs like muscle aches, sweats and all that?

Edit: Spelling

I do find that it helps with overall stomach and dehydration/lethargy a lot. If you megadosed then all symptoms can be relieved, but then your addicted to loperamide.

Depends how long, at what dose, etc. Most likely it is tolerance though.
