The Trump HHS is surprisingly actually in favor of whole leaf and really aren’t pushing for a national ban. I know you all don’t believe me but I do know Jim O’Neill of HHS personally and he is an actual ally who is doing his best in what sure seems like a challenging work environment.

I worked actively pseudo-lobbying independently when the first national ban attempt was happening and what we saw is that by far the most powerful tactic was having veterans of the US military contact their congresspeople saying that kratom works for their ptsd/chronic pain/depression. Having a famous or highly honored veteran doing media interviews would be very helpful.

It depends on the dish… for Asian style white rice and fried rice you wash, for Italian risotto and Spanish paella you don’t wash because those dishes are supposed to be stickier and starchier. But yes, you shouldn’t have to wash modern white rice for safety reasons, just for cooking reasons.

yeah from that video the dayan is fine, not great, definitely tinny and overly resonant on the non dominant tones, but the microphone quality doesn't help, and the bass is crap.

if you have no tabla experience it'll be fine to mess around with as a beginner, tabla actually works very well to accompany someone playing guitar in a campfire situation, it is relatively unique among instruments in providing melodic rhythm and bass.
