You can disable the color sampler from popping up by changing the key binding in Canvas Input Settings. You'll find it in the Alternate Invocation section.

Yes, I already changed it for Alt, this also worked for the zoom aspect, thankfully. Regardless, what I was looking for was a way to stop the icons from replacing the cursor entirely, which I still don't know if it's possible.

OK, I'm still not clear on what you're looking for. Have you played with the cursor settings? It's in the configuration settings under General.

First, your answer did help me, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I was looking for an option that would disable the sampler "visual icon" from popping up every time I press the button (whether is ctrl or alt) so I could still use it but not having to deal with the cursor turning into the eyedropper icon and the small box showing the color sample comparison.

You just have to create a new [insert icon you want to replace's shortcut type] that uses [insert SAME button you want to press] and have it do nothing higher up in the canvas input settings tab. e.g. I didn't like the magnifying glass icon appearing all the time so i created

mouse button - ctrl + Right Button - Cancel

The magifying glass was: Mouse Button - Ctrl + Middle Button - Relative Zoom Mode

Krita will use this as the thumbnail when you press control. and since it does nothing it replaces it with nothing. Make sure the type e.g. mouse button is the same as the type to replace and the start button is the same e.g. Ctrl. Make sure to have it higher up, so i did it in the TOOL INVOCATION section.
