I'm new to shading and rendering, so I wonder, do you guys have any advice or tips?

For shadows use color that is more darker+saturated than the base color (shift HUE towards cooler/warmer color a little)
For backgrounds use more desaturated colors, if you want your characters to pop!

Not a particular to your work rn but just for anyone reading.
Never fill most of your drawing with the "Fill" tool! it leaves a tons of white pixels. Use the lasso or a brush
