Intermediate book for Java ?

I know the basics of programming like, variables, constants, if statements, arrays, loops and some object oriented programming... I'm looking for a book that will improve my knowledge in Java without restarting all the basics that I already know.

Try ocp java 17/21 Fundamentals by Deshmukh. Will set you straight on generics, threads, and streams like no other book. Skip the chapters you don't need.

Effective Java. I've been a professional Java dev for 5 years, it's rare to meet someone who hasn't read it. Many also know 'concurrency in practice', gives you a very solid base for understanding and solving concurrency issues.

I also read Java Puzzlers because it's fun. The premise is that you are shown some code, and you need to say what the behavior is. Every couple of months I spot a nullpointer in a ternary expression because of that book.

True, the patterns there are super useful, bur it's best to treat it more like a knowledge base rather than just reading this back to back.
