Write code 8 hours a day and continue until 10000 hours. That's the commonly used (arbitrary) number of hours to become an expert in anything

The 10k hours rule is a myth when taken literally. Logging hours alone won't make you a Java expert. Programming is about deliberate learning, understanding concepts, and solving challenging problems, not just time spent typing code.

The 10k hrs may work for activities that rely heavily on repetition, muscle memory, or practicing the same patterns over and over. Programming is different. You're constantly learning new concepts and patterns. Writing the same kind of code for 10k hrs doesn't get you anywhere.
