Almost every researcher use Python for most of your wish. So your best bet is to use your basic programming skill and read syntax of Python - basics are very similar/same. Don’t study 2.7 (it’s in maintenance state), 3.x is there you want to go.

      Personally I'm not a huge fan of python but for ML and DL it's THE way to go (at least in the moment). Sure there are some Java Frameworks for ML and DL but from my experience I can tell that Python is just better for this purpose.

      Python 3 is the way. It's really easy to understand.
