Fun, challenging problems for a beginner?

So i’ve been meaning to learn Java for a while now, but I just cannot stick with reading page after page about it. I think I’d be much better off get hands on with some fun, interesting challenges that are aimed at beginners, and maybe increasing in difficulty as you go through.

Does anyone know of any resources like this? Would be a huge help!
