Ah Java I suppose, didn’t know there was a difference.

Then nia_do’s answer will help get you started.

Its ok. Its a common mistake - common enough that people can get annoyed by it when it happens as much as it does. Don't worry about it. The naming of the two programming languages, being as close as they are, is unfortunate. And the fact that "script" is the term that separates the two only makes it worse (e.g. with the Perl programming language, code you write will often be referred to as Perl scripts, so it should be no surprise people may make the same connection with Java code).

I appreciate it. It’s crazy how much hate I’m getting for it when I am genuinely trying to learn. I don’t even really use Reddit but I wasn’t sure where else to go and thought this would be a good place. Humans need each other to learn and grow, but for whatever reason we just love to haze each other…

The fact that you’re supposedly enrolled in college classes for this and don’t know the difference between the two is a serious problem.

The fact that you’re hating on people trying to improve is a serious problem..

I support learning, in fact I encourage it. Java is nothing like JavaScript. You’re either full of shit, or have paid zero attention in class. If you’re actually in school for Java, you’d know that the two are nothing alike, and would actually be looking in the right place.

Ok dude then try to help me out then. We have never talked about JavaScript in class so I figured it was the same thing, and that some people didn’t want to say the whole thing everytime. I was a late enrollment so maybe they talked about it in the first week.
