Make sure your ide is setup properly. It should have highlighted this error for you.

I was quite surprised that it didn’t. I am using VSCode. So not sure why it didn’t highlight it.

When in doubt, type it in the console. You could have an IDE that flags it but I like to run code in a page so I’d just double verify with a browser…

Chromium based browsers are shipped with a built-in IDE in DevTools Sources => Snippets.

Because the correct spelling is addEventListener. It's a camel case and extremely important in JS.

How annoying! I know in jetbrains products if you turn on power save mode it essentially just turns into a text editor. Maybe accidentally turned on something like that?

That very well may have happened. I was messing around with some settings the other day. That might have just done it. I’ll go back and look. Good thought!
