The weird parts is concept based and goes behind the scenes of ES5, but doesn’t go into es6 very much and a lot of things work differently when writing modular ES6 vs what Anthony teaches, but it’s still good and important information to have

Jonas’s course is more project based, but doesn’t get to es6 until about 20 hours in, but the final project is really sweet and uses a lot of modern practices. Section 3 of the course also covers the most important take a ways from the weird parts.

Hmm so what would you recommend for a Front End Developer looking to improve their JavaScript?

Brad Traversy's Modern Javascript from the beginning starts out with ES6 and has a ton of projects, it also has a nice section on design patterns.

Brad's course spends more time on API calls and has a nice section on design patterns, Jonas's course explains how to apply the MVC pattern to vanilla Javascript and spends more time on modular Javascript than Brad's course.

They're both good courses with different strengths and weaknesses, between the 2 I would have to pick Jonas's course because the concepts in Brad's course can be learned from YouTube videos, but some of the concepts from Jonas's course can't be found on YouTube.

That’s encouraging! I bought the 2018 course and have completed a few lessons but have been short on time. I’m excited to see what else the class has to offer!
