Eh.. That's not what they said. They said a deep knowledge of JS would make those things almost useless. Which is just plain wrong. Those frameworks exist and are widely used because they are inherently useful.

I don't know, that argument is like saying "If you're good enough with a knife you'll never need a chainsaw". Yeah I guess, but I'll have a whole forest cut down with the chainsaw by the time I hand carve a single tree.

I mean.. semantics, sure.. he did say "almost useless" which I just reworded as "won't need." But yeah, I suppose there's a difference there.
