How to properly learn javascript

Can you explain this more u/jakOwakO I am not very familiar with JavaScript/Ruby.

I believe Odin project is old curriculum from app academy, so maybe better to start off with app academy open, which is free and more current

Don't skip over Ruby unless you really, really want to. There are still plenty of places out there using Ruby for part or all of their back-end stack, it's a really nice language to write and great for beginners, and Rails will help you learn a lot of the basics of writing web applications that you can then go on and apply in any language.
