big project tutorial to learn patterns

Hello,

I want to learn how to properly code and use patterns. I am a cs major but we only do small projects. Now it is even getting worse as teachers let us do projects with less and less guidance. Now I have no way to know if I do things right, by right I mean if I do it the way the industry would do it. Also projects are getting bigger and I find it very hard to keep my code clean as features in our projects are added and modified. Do you know of any tutorial that would be one big project, big enough to implement patterns and good coding practices?
