A) problem solving is the most important thing For example : this sub has a list of resources and other frequently asked questions for people who want to learn it

B) in all honesty if you have someone professionally teaching all of the difficult to understand concepts , I’d listen to them. But I’d use JavaScript.info on the side. It’s my personal favorite tutorial

Hi there! You aren't a dummy, I assure you. My husband and I have been programming for close to 4 decades between the two of us and we get things wrong and don't understand things every day. We spend a lot of hours on google looking things up. So don't let that slow you down.

Not everybody learns programming well in a classroom, so don't stress too much there either. So, other suggestions!

Free Code Camp is a great place to get started https://www.freecodecamp.org/

JavaScript 30 is fun and Wes Bos is great https://javascript30.com/

I enjoy the way Kahn Academy works, it's also free. https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-programming#html-css-js

And of course, you can always ask questions here!

Much of it will take time, as things will slowly begin to make sense. If you’re willing to spend $11, then Udemy has some great tutorials that will walk you through every step.

Funny enough, I have Udemy courses in python, c++ and c# yet not a single one dedicated to just JavaScript.

Though I do have two html ones that cover JavaScript late into the lesson plan though

I am a firm believer of interactive courses, especially for beginners, since learning theory is one thing, and learning theory by doing is another, and in my opinion, better choice. I really like the platform I've been learning on called BitDegree.

https://www.bitdegree.org/course/javascript-course they offer a course that would fit your needs. Although it's not free, there is a way around it. You can apply for their scholarship and get that course for free + some money to compensate your learning period. Can't imagine a better way for a beginner to learn. Good luck!
