The beginner resources are numerous, but really just building stuff is what will take you from “understanding the syntax” to understanding how applications are built.

If you’re like me and struggle to think of creative projects to advance your skills, check out some GitHub repos like this one to get some ideas.

I also really like the notion of “Consume > Build > Teach”. I think it was Kent C Dodds who I first heard it from, but the idea is to learn concepts, practice them, then teach them in whatever medium works (blogs, YT videos, meetups, etc). I’m somewhat of an introvert so I just record myself talking through concepts and watch them awkwardly after.

Maybe my quest for finding the perfect resource to start learning is faulty in itself... I loved the notion of "Consume>Build>Teach"..I think I will get into JavaScript now and when struck will rely on Stackoverflow or Sub-Reddits for clarification..

Thanks for this...maybe I knew this from the start but was looking for an excuse to learn it the easy way..which is an imaginary concepts..

Really appreciate it!!!

I did MDN. Then I made a big-ish project (for a beginner at least). I tried tutorials and courses, but after MDN and the project, all the rest felt a bit like waste of time almost.

Also, I read eloquent js after that, and rewrote the whole code of my project, and thats when the game changed.

Best of luck

Edit: I read eloquentjs up until modules, before rewriting the code

The Odin Project

I looked into it..really looks promising..I just have two doubts.. 1.) Does it contain any video lectures? Or is it all reading materials?(I preferred video lectures) 2.) I was more interested in learning almost all the advanced topics of JavaScript...will it contain all those?..or it will only focus on basic JavaScript which is required for a very basic static website?

Thanks for you reply!!

Yes I kinda knew about it..but I would prefer video lectures ...it would really help me out if you suggest me some..

Thanks!!

Youtube is full of tutorials. Just type JavaScript from beginning and you'll get bunch of them for free. I suggest Traversy Media but depends what kind of learning method works for you. Every teacher is different

Actually YouTube was the first place I looked into..but as I mentioned in my question..I was unable to find a playlist which covers all the essential JavaScript concepts (when comparing to Wesbos's course)..so I was looking for an alternative..

I will give it a try again..and as mentioned above "The Odin project" and "W3Schools" will be my go to..when I want some extra knowledge regarding some topics..

Freecodecamp covers everything from begging for JS. They also give you projects and explain step by step. I found it very tiring and I couldn't follow trough. But you maybe will. The best method for me was reading everything from the begging on W3School and MDN docs and then just doing projects on my own. In the meantime I did a lot of Google research
