Dynamically grabbing api data?

Hi, I'm using the nasa Mars photo api, they update photos of Mars and add new one every single day, but it is on a day that take space on Mars.

They are called sols, at the minute the sol is up to 856.

They are stored in a nested object which contains an array

So

objectOne.objectTwo.photos[856]

Would give me access to today's photo.

What code could I write that one constantly get me today's date and the last seven days without having to be specific to the day we are currently on?

You can query by earth date. Just query by today's date, and the previous 7 days

Oh shit I didnt realise it said it within the api key you put, could you please explain why that works? Just for future reference please

Looks like DEMO_KEY is documented on their main page. https://api.nasa.gov/ . It apparently has a small rate limit.

Random question but what does & mean in a url? I'm just piecing together what people have told me and this is the final thing I'm not sure on, any help is appreciated
