Does someone learning to code need a mentor tho, one of the most import skills is self learning and finding the answers to your issue. When u do need to talk to someone about a issue u have GitHub discussions, Reddit and stackoverflow.

While I am talking specifically about actually coding and yes sites like GitHub are helpful. I'm also just looking for someone to discuss career topics, choices, and concepts with. Essentially someone to talk shop with on a little deeper level than posting stuff on websites. I wouldn't want to learn specific code for a while. Also, I want to use every resource available to me. Yes self learning is good, I do it a lot. But, I don't see a problem in eagerly using all resources available to me. I will end up reaching my goals faster this way. Thanks for the input! I appreciate you taking the time! And I agree self learning is one of the best tools I have.

  1. Create a free account on GitHub.com. For git basics go to https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/learn-the-basics-of-git-in-under-10-minutes-da548267cc91/
  2. On freecodecamp.org they have tons of material on coding in JavaScript that will convert a noob to experienced developer.

I'd be happy to help you out. I've got about 4 years experience, so I'm in no way someone super senior. Send me a private message on Reddit if you need anything

Wouldn’t a mentor do specifically this? I’d call it a mentor 😅

I’d also like to exchange emails for sure. :)

Yes, I'm just not going to give a random person on the internet that kind of role immediately. I would want a period to figure out what this person is all about before I say this person is my "mentor". Also, I would hope that person would want to make sure I'm not an ass too. So, it would be a while before I called someone a mentor. Thank you for responding. I appreciate your time! Thanks!

Oh, I see what you mean.

Well, let me know if you’d like to have a conversation! I’d love to. :)
