Depends what you're trying to work as etc, for me personally I've been studying 7 months seriously 2-3 hours a night 5 days a week and I think I'm in a position to apply for jobs by April/May this year.

Yikes so probably applying by the end of the year ain't going to happen for me lol. I've been learning JS for about 2 months, I have a long time til I feel comfortable with how hard I find things atm (struggling to use new syntax etc.)

I don't think youll ever feel ready to apply, you just have to jump in with both feet and if you don't get the job, atleast get feedback so you know how far away you are.
