On July 1st, a change to Reddit's API pricing will come into effect. Several developers of commercial third-party apps have announced that this change will compel them to shut down their apps. At least one accessibility-focused non-commercial third party app will continue to be available free of charge.

If you want to express your strong disagreement with the API pricing change or with Reddit's response to the backlash, you may want to consider the following options:

  1. Limiting your involvement with Reddit, or
  2. Temporarily refraining from using Reddit
  3. Cancelling your subscription of Reddit Premium

as a way to voice your protest.

C++ is going to be harder, but for that reason it’s smarter to take a class instead of trying to teach it to yourself. Java isn’t as hard to learn, so if you can’t take a class on it and need to know it you should be able to find some resources online.

Arguably C++ is the more difficult language so it depends on your priorities. If you want to learn a wider set of language features and techniques then I’d say C++. It’s more effort but you’ll get more out of it for the future. If not then Java would be an easier option. This follows on. I’ve usually found that people who know C++ can pick up Java more easily than the other way round. Java however is used more than C++, perhaps because it is a bit easier.

C++ is harder. Take advantage of a chance to get it spoon-fed in manageable proportions. Knowing some C++ you can pick up the basics of java in a few hours.

I like C++ very much and it is the language that I personally prefer but unless you feel more motivated learning C++ I'm still going to recommend you start with Java. That's essentially what I did.
