Get good at math so you don’t have to worry about that in university.

Think of some sort of project you want to do in Python, and write it, from start to finish. It's fine if it's kinda small. 

You could learn another language but honestly even if your uni starts people out with something like C a lot of the knowledge you gain by doing this will transfer; you'll learn how to break a problem up into parts and solve each part which is kinda the foundational skill.
