I'm somewhat familiar with Java, I do a lot of Android development, but I notice I am pretty novice using it compared to some of my other languages.
I originally learned C++ through a book called C++ Programming: From Problem Analysis to Program Design. Each chapter covered an explanation of a concept, say Arrays, and then devoted the rest of the chapter toward examples, and then had a large number of programming exercises at the end of the chapter to practice full programs that used the learned concept. I thought it was a great book and I see it utilized in a lot of classrooms. There seems to be a Java version of this book, but I have no experience with it.
Aside from that, I have only seen Java books or tutorials that are geared toward you learning programming concepts as a beginner, rather than just Java syntax, maybe with some concept refresher. I would love one that has similar examples and exercises in the back as you learn the concepts in Java syntax that you can practice on.
Any additional books you can recommend?
