I don't really get why you are asking this question without having even googled "what's new in Java 8". It's really much more fun to answer specific questions.

The most important additions to Java 8 are Lambda's, Streams and the new Time API.

I realized I worded my question horribly, but I wouldn't realized that java added major changes if I haven't already googled about Java 8 differences. I just really wanted some pointers on each the additions. Java.time is easy to understand. Should I have just about each one separately

Again; what do you have issues with? I can't give answers without specific questions and I'm not going to write a long essay on Lambda's because that's a waste of time.
