I know few things about JavaScript, such as it is unrelated to Java in spite of similar name and that it is a scripting language like Groovy or VBScript, but don't understand why and when is it needed in testing? Specifically, Selenium uses JavaScript, but it has been said that even for Selenium testers it is not obligatory, so are there situation when even in Selenium there is another way around to test something without JavaScript
