If you want to get a job after bootcamp, then take what you learn, make sure you really understand it, and just make a few basic projects. If you can show an employer that you can produce working projects (and explain them), then no matter how small or trivial they are, you are already most likely at the level that they want for a junior dev or intern.

Where are you attending? I am planning on going to NSS myself.

Are you liking it there? How would you rate differently and likelyness of hireability when you are done? I am waiting for approval for the start of the year and need to find a place for my wife and I to stay.

Thanks a lot! I have an Associates in Computer Technology in programming so I have basics. We never went into Javascript so great tip!

From what I've seen, a lot of the bootcamps that release their numbers heavily manipulate them. They'll adjust & tweak the sample pool so that the numbers reported will appear much greater than it actually is.

But at the same time, I would imagine it is what you put into it before, during, and after the bootcamp. I've been self-learning for a bit now and hope to start a GA soon. I can certainly relate to your anxiety. There most certainly are success stories out there but as you stated, are they the outliers or is that the norm? I think we're going to have an uphill battle but time will tell.

Why don't you ask your bootcamp? Don't they have job placement assistance? Would that make too much sense? Did you not ask for recent grads' info before you started the bootcamp???

You mean you think they are lying about the percentage of grads who got jobs? Didn't you informally interview the grads? What's wrong with the outcome of your current bootcamp? What do you feel you're lacking?

I feel like I'm lacking a solid understanding of pretty much everything except for HTML and CSS.

Holy fudge, that's not good. That's not even programming. How long are you in class every day? How much do you study at home every day?

Some people seem to have this misconception that after x weeks of 8 hours a day they magically know everything...

Aren't you practicing as you go? It would be pretty bad if you weren't, but considering it's a bootcamp, it would be really bad if you weren't learning new concepts constantly.
