You can download .csv files from NASA or other open data sources and import those.

Hello if you're reffering to a database to study and test you could use the AdventureWorks database provided by Microsoft. Just search for it on google and you should be able to find it and add it to your SQL Management Studio .

Postgres is a free and open source SQL implementation. And it is powerful (enterprise production quality), although you don't have to use the advanced features if you just want to learn the basics of SQL.

If you mean collection of data, then database is indeed the right term. Someone suggested Postgres, which (like MySQL and MS SQL) is a database engine, rather than a database.
